Shallow End is a proof-of-concept short directed and shot by James Valdez. The film is releasing in the 2026 independent festival circuit. Starring Izaias Arvizu as Mateo and Jacob Estrada as Diego, over the course of one night, two brothers wrestle with loyalty, ambition, and family pressure, as fragments of an off-screen event disrupt their uneasy calm.
